
CSM TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION SERVICE

If you have completed college-level coursework at other institutions and wish to have those credits applied to CSM’s degree, certificate, or transfer programs, your transcript(s) should be evaluated during the first semester of attendance.

Before completing this request for transcript evaluation, you must identify the educational goal that you would like to have your prior coursework evaluated for:
CSM AA/AS General Education requirements OR
CSM Certificate requirements [for a specific Certificate area] OR
CSU GE-Breadth Certification* OR
UC/CSU IGETC Certification*

*NOTE: You must select either CSU GE-Breadth or IGETC Certification, we cannot do evaluations for both.

Accreditation by one of these bodies is the basis for recognition of degrees and acceptance of transfer credit at the San Mateo County Community College District:
If you have completed coursework at a college or university outside of the United States, you must first contact and submit international transcripts to an approved International Credential Evaluation Service:
Foreign transcript evaluations cannot be applied to CSU GE-Breadth or IGETC certifications.

In order to use the CSM Transcript Evaluation service, you must:
- Enroll at CSM in a minimum of 3 units
- Declare CSM to be the “home” institution and the institution at which you intend to achieve your educational goal
- Send official transcripts from previous colleges and universities to: CSM, Office of Admissions & Records. [Mailing address at end of application.]
- Evaluations will not be done until all official transcripts have been received
- If additional information is required, such as course outlines, you will be responsible for obtaining these documents.
After all documentation is submitted, the evaluation process takes approximately 4 weeks to complete. Evaluations are conducted the 3rd through the 15th week of each Fall and Spring semester.
In order to complete the application, you will need to supply the following information:
- Name, location, and dates of attendance of all other colleges and universities where you have taken coursework.
- For each course you wish to have evaluated (this information should be found on your transcript):
- Department
- Course Number
- Course Title
- Units Earned
- Grade Received
- Academic Calendar [i.e., Semester or Quarter system]
